Life with a Tamron is surprisingly good I must add. It is noticeably soft at large apertures, but this can be used to creative effect. A flash may be necessary as the built in one doesn't propagate fully past the lens, but for now I have no choice as i've run out of money. Definitely a good call grabbing the lens before March though
Another point, the Nikon D40 isn't meant to be weatherproof, but screw that, its been soaked 4 times in the last 24 hours from my stupid photography angles and taking it out in sub-zero blizzards. This camera is tough, and the Tamron Lens is equally sturdy, unlike the Sigma (sorry Sigma people, but it didn't feel as chunky)
